Carson Beck strongly claims the Miami Hurricanes have what it takes to compete in the College Football Playoffs.

The Miami Hurricanes continue their quest towards earning a ticket into the College Football Playoffs and punching it. However, given the current state of the ACC, the opportunity will not come easily.

At first, the South Florida program was in a great position to automatically get in, but due to a couple of self-inflicted losses against the Louisville Cardinals and SMU Mustangs, they will have to scratch and claw their way in.

A few days ago, the Selection Committee released an updated version of the College Football Playoff rankings, which had the Hurricanes finishing 13th, a two-slot increase from the previous week. They're projected into the bracket, but only because the program is the highest among other ACC teams.

It will take a miracle for the Hurricanes to win the conference, which would be an automatic guaranteed spot in the postseason, but the losses against the Cardinals and Mustangs are now holding back their chances.

The best bet for them to get in is through an "at-large" bid, which falls into the hands of the Selection Committee.

Regardless, Mario Cristobal has alluded to the team's focus, which is controlling the controllable, like winning the remainder of the regular season schedule.

The Hurricanes will wrap things up with a couple of road games, with the first being this Saturday against the Virginia Tech Hokies, then on Nov. 29th against the Pitt Panthers, both starting at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time. They're coming off a dominant victory over the North Carolina State Wolfpack, with a final score of 41-7. It's that type of performance that will get them into the playoffs.

Quarterback Carson Beck has been phenomenal in the last three victories for the Hurricanes. He's completed 60 of 79 passes for 727 yards and five touchdowns throughout that span.

The redshirt senior believes this team has what it takes to be dangerous in the playoffs, if given the opportunity.

"I think we're super talented," he said. "We have all the talent in the world. For us, it's about focusing on each and every day. Just trying to go 1-0 and keeping things simple every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, so on and so forth. Shrinking the margins, focusing on what we need to focus on each and every day. With each opportunity that we're given, we just need to execute. We're very talented on both sides of the ball and all three facets."

The Hurricanes have a strong chance of getting in, but must take care of business first, which is exactly the intention.
