Four-star receiver Javien Robinson weighs the Miami Hurricanes against four rivals, eyeing a future where he could become a key offensive weapon.

As the Miami Hurricanes eye another National Championship chase, transfer portal additions can only go so far. Despite the current state of college sports, high school recruits are still capable of making an immediate impact. Last season, the Hurricanes had a few freshmen players step up, such as safety Bryce Fitzgerald, running back Girard Pringle Jr., and star wide receiver Malachi Toney.

As the next recruiting class prepares to step in, including five-star left tackle Jackson Cantwell, the program aims to continue adding young, promising talent, such as four-star wide receiver Javien Robinson. He currently attends McKeesport High School in McKeesport, Pennsylvania.

It was reported on Monday, Feb. 9, that Robinson is eyeing five programs: the Hurricanes, Syracuse Orange, Pitt Panthers, West Virginia Mountaineers, and Rutgers Scarlet Knights.

He has yet to make an official trip to Coral Gables in South Florida. Robinson has been on two official visits with Rutgers and Syracuse, both being the nearest to the state of Pennsylvania, along with Pitt.

The junior high schooler has a great instinct for the football, being utilized on both sides of the field as a wide receiver and cornerback. If Robinson were to join the Hurricanes, he'd share a room with four-star signee Somourian Wingo, who attended St. Augustine High School and caught 137 passes for 2,398 yards, scoring 31 touchdowns.

Although the Hurricanes added quarterback Darian Mensah through the transfer portal, it's unlikely he stays with the program beyond next season, with NFL aspirations. However, they have a couple of young, promising quarterbacks in Luke Nickel and Dereon Coleman. Either one could emerge as a great leader for the offense, especially one that could feature Robinson.

If on the Hurricanes, the Pennsylvania native would have an expanded role as Toney and other wide receivers currently on the roster could explore transfer portal opportunities or the NFL.

Robinson still has plenty of time to explore all options, visit campuses, and decide which program is the best fit for him and his future. However, the Hurricanes are not in the driver's seat in this case. An official visit on campus would help their chances of landing a commitment.

Coach Mario Cristobal is known to be an outstanding recruiter in all of college football. Plus, after a historic freshman season by Toney, it showed how great a wide receiver can thrive under the Hurricanes and offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson's system, which could be an attraction for Robinson.
