The Miami Hurricanes continue to take steps in the right direction, but the job is far from over. They're coming off a dominant victory over the North Carolina State Wolfpack, with a final score of 41-7.
An outstanding performance for the last home game of the season.
The Hurricanes were excellent from start to finish, receiving contributions from multiple players.
Freshman running back Girard Pringle Jr. carried 17 times for 116 yards, 148 total.
Freshman wide receiver Malachi Toney finished with 57 yards and two touchdowns, including 44 passing yards.
The 18-year-old continues to impact winning in tremendous ways, with quarterback skills from his high school days.
Finally, redshirt senior Carson Beck was efficient, completing 21 of 27 passes for 291 yards and three touchdowns. A great outing as the 23-year-old plays his final collegiate home game.
After a couple of crucial losses to the Louisville Cardinals and SMU Mustangs, the Hurricanes no longer control their destiny, but have maintained a certain level of steadiness.
So much so, they leaped in the latest AP poll, jumping from 16th to 14th.

The Hurricanes continue to build a case for a spot in the College Football Playoffs and potentially compete for an ACC title.
There is a high level of uncertainty as the season is in the final stretch, with only two games left.
The Hurricanes have alluded to only worrying about themselves and controlling what they can control.
They will conclude their season with two road games, against the Virginia Tech Hokies and Pitt Panthers. Both are unranked ACC opponents, which increases the value of the importance for the Hurricanes to pull through with a strong victory.
They're currently fifth in the conference standings with a 4-2 record.
The Panthers and Mustangs are slightly ahead of them, both with 5-1 records.
The Hurricanes would need them to stumble, while obviously winning out on their own schedule.
It's a race that will likely be determined on Nov. 29th.
“It’s all about one game,” Mario Cristobal said after the Wolfpack game. “It’s always worked best for us. It keeps yourself from tripping over yourself.”
He alluded to carrying toughness, energy, physicality, resilience, and brotherhood as the Hurricanes prepare for two games away from home.
It’s still a steep hill to climb, but so much can transpire after one week of college football.
