The Miami Hurricanes continue to attack the high school recruiting scene, gaining interest from a unique prospect in Braden Gordon. He's a four-star athlete from Montgomery, Alabama, ranked 13th among players in the state, according to 247Sports Composite.
Gordon is a dual-threat athlete, playing both basketball and football, excelling in both sports. He's played three seasons on the court, averaging 14.9 points, seven rebounds, two steals, and 1.9 assists in 15 total games.
In football, Gordon is utilized on both sides of the field, mainly as a wide receiver and outside linebacker. Offensively, he caught 84 passes for 1,359 yards, 16.2 yards per catch, scoring 13 touchdowns in 25 total games throughout two seasons. Defensively, the four-star recruit recorded 115 total tackles, 70 solos and 45 assists, 31 tackles for loss, and 21 sacks.
It was reported on Saturday, Feb. 14th, that Gordon has narrowed down his long list of options to five programs: the Hurricanes, Florida Gators, Auburn Tigers, Kentucky Wildcats, and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
The Montgomery native is listed at 6-4, 200 pounds. He could play multiple positions on the field. Gordon played a few snaps at running back, rushing 102 times for 743 yards, 7.3 yards per carry, including one 100-plus rushing yard game, scoring 17 touchdowns.
However, the Hurricanes retained their entire running back depth, so that would be out of the equation for Gordon.
The four-star athlete has an official visit scheduled with the Gators this summer, on June 11. He received an offer from the Alabama Crimson Tide, but doesn't appear to desire staying local.
Gordon provides outstanding versatility for any program to secure a commitment from him.
The Hurricanes already have an exciting four-star incoming freshman athlete in Asharri Charles, part of the 2026 recruiting class. He's likely to play as an edge rusher and could provide an immediate impact with stars Rueben Bain Jr. and Akheem Mesidor heading to the NFL.
If the program manages to secure another great talent such as Gordon, it unlocks extra possibilities for its future.
The Hurricanes are looking to remain competitive, especially coming off a National Championship appearance. Coach Mario Cristobal has turned the image of the program around, establishing a new standard. Adding a high-caliber talent such as Gordon would keep that high-level competitiveness going.
Scheduling an official visit could go a long way in the recruiting process. Gordon has plenty of time to evaluate all options before reaching a final decision.
