A coveted four-star lineman decommitted, and the Miami Hurricanes are in contention. Official visits loom as he decides his collegiate future.

The Miami Hurricanes seek to remain competitive, not only on the field, but in the high school recruiting scene as well. Coming off a National Championship appearance, the program has captured the attention of several prospects, including Jatori Williams. He’s a four-star offensive lineman who currently attends Central High School, a public institution located in Phenix City, Alabama. The junior has an athletic background, playing both football and basketball.

Williams committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide on Sept. 29, 2025, but decided to decommit a few months later. He’s listed at 6-5, 330 pounds, and ranked 95th nationally, eighth among interior offensive linemen, and fourth in the state for the class of 2027, according to Rivals Industry Rankings. Williams received interest and offers from numerous programs, including the Florida Gators, South Florida Bulls, Florida State Seminoles, Ohio State Buckeyes, Ole Miss Rebels, Nebraska Cornhuskers, and Missouri Tigers, along with others.

It appears that the four-star prospect is prepared to find a new home, as it was reported that he has narrowed the long list down to five, including the Hurricanes. The others are the Seminoles, Kentucky Wildcats, Auburn Tigers, and Georgia Bulldogs. Williams has official visits scheduled with four of them in the upcoming months:

- Georgia: May 29

- Miami: June 5

- Florida State: June 12

- Kentucky: June 19

The Hurricanes have advantages when it comes to recruiting offensive linemen. For starters, the group is led by offensive line coach Alex Mirabal, who is regarded as one of the top assistants in the nation. Head coach Mario Cristobal is a former offensive lineman for the program, playing from 1989 to 1992. Also, the Hurricanes prioritize dominating matchups in the trenches.

The team is currently working towards a reshaped offensive line after losing four key starters in left tackle Markel Bell, right guard Anez Cooper, center James Brockermeyer, and All-American right tackle Francis Mauigoa, all of whom declared for the upcoming NFL Draft.

After decommitting, Williams has an opportunity to change course in his recruiting process, potentially for the better. The upcoming visits will likely play a role as a final decision nears.

The Hurricanes have an opportunity to continue stacking talent for the 2027 recruiting class, which already consists of a couple of elite wide receivers in Nick Lennear and Ah’Mari Stevens. Williams would be the first non-Florida player to join.

The program’s future continues to shine bright, especially after a historic 13-3 season.
