The Miami Hurricanes battle SEC powerhouses for dynamic four-star receiver Kesean Bowman, a talented playmaker with a recent flip in his recruitment.

The Miami Hurricanes revamped the roster for next season with notable transfer portal acquisitions, especially All-ACC quarterback Darian Mensah, but high school recruits can provide a similar impact. Running back Girard Pringle Jr., safety Bryce Fitzgerald, and star wide receiver Malachi Toney were standout freshmen who produced right away.

The program continues to seek out highly ranked high school talent, including four-star wide receiver Kesean Bowman. He currently attends Brentwood Academy, a co-educational Christian independent college preparatory institution located in Williamson County.

It was reported on Monday that the four-star prospect is drawn to five schools: the Ohio State Buckeyes, Alabama Crimson Tide, Tennessee Volunteers, Vanderbilt Commodores, and Hurricanes.

As a sophomore, Bowman broke out with 56 catches for 1,023 yards, scoring eight touchdowns. He showed versatility by playing snaps on the defensive side of the field as a cornerback.

The Tennessee wide receiver is listed at 6-1, 175 pounds, and ranked 31st nationally, sixth in his position, and second in the state for the class of 2027, according to 247Sports Composite.

Bowman made several unofficial visits, including with the Volunteers, North Carolina Tar Heels, Oregon Ducks, Buckeyes, and Crimson Tide. Also, he's received interest and offers from the Florida Gators, Florida State Seminoles, Georgia Bulldogs, LSU Tigers, and Texas Longhorns, among many others.

The four-star prospect originally committed to the Ducks on July 24, 2025. However, he withdrew from the decision on Sept. 29, 2025. Now, the Ducks didn't make the final five cut.

Bowman scheduled an official summer visit with the Volunteers on June 5. He will have an opportunity to remain local and develop with a program close to home. The campus is approximately 12.4 miles away from Brentwood.

The Hurricanes held a fall visit with him last year, which was considered his "favorite" at the time.

However, the transaction with the Ducks is an indication that anything can happen in high school recruiting. The Hurricanes will have an opportunity to secure a talented wide receiver and add more firepower to offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson's schemes.

Pulling Bowman away from the Volunteers will likely be the biggest challenge in the race to land the four-star recruit. The Hurricanes have several homegrown talented players, so it would be a similar situation for the Tennessee native.

Coming off a National Championship, the program seeks to remain competitive, successfully establishing a new standard. Bowman has an opportunity to be a part of it.
