Noah Glover spurned heavyweights like Alabama and Georgia to join Mario Cristobal’s rising defensive unit, vaulting the Miami Hurricanes into the nation’s top five 2027 recruiting classes.
Miami, FL. – On Sunday evening, the Miami Hurricanes secured a commitment from Texas native and four-star defensive tackle DeMarco Jenkins, a current student of Pearland High School. Despite earning several offers from local programs, he decided the best route was to move down to South Florida. However, Jenkins will not be coming alone, as four-star linebacker Noah Glover committed within the following hour. He currently attends Battlefield High School, a public institution located in Prince William County, Virginia.
As a sophomore, playing primarily at outside linebacker, Glover logged 14 total tackles, 13 solos and one assist, two tackles for loss, three sacks, a fumble recovered, and two interceptions, including a pick-six, in eight total games.
Other programs presented interest and scholarship offers, including the Florida State Seminoles, Ohio State Buckeyes, Oregon Ducks, Alabama Crimson Tide, Indiana Hoosiers, Clemson Tigers, Michigan Wolverines, Texas Longhorns, Auburn Tigers, Syracuse Orange, and Penn State Natty Wildcats, along with others.
Glover narrowed down the long list of options to four but chose the Hurricanes over the Georgia Bulldogs, Texas A&M Aggies, and Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Despite having opportunities to play close to home–Virginia Cavaliers and Virginia Tech Hokies–the four-star linebacker decided to travel down to South Florida. He had an official visit to the Coral Gables campus and facility on Friday, May 29.
The recruit is listed at 6-2, 205 pounds, and ranked 199th nationally, 19th among linebackers, and third in the state of Virginia for the 2027 class, according to Rivals Industry Rankings.
Glover will take on an opportunity to develop under defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Corey Hetherman, who helped in transforming the Hurricanes’ scoring defense from one of the worst to the fifth-best in the Football Bowl Subdivision last season.
The program is now up to 17 commits, including a couple of five-stars in cornerback Donte Wright and Nick Lennear. Following Glover’s addition to the group, the Hurricanes are ranked the fourth-best recruiting class with a 93 score, according to On3.
There are still several other recruits who have an interest in enrolling at the University of Miami, including four-star wide receiver Eli Woodard, who decommitted from USC and took an official visit to the Coral Gables campus and facility on Friday, May 29, the same day as Glover and Jenkins.
The program continues to build towards a brighter future after reaching the National Championship game and ahead of Fall camp, along with potential flips on the horizon.
