The Miami Hurricanes host four-star Dakota Guerrant, a top receiver prospect, as the program aims to build on championship momentum and land elite talent.

As spring training progresses, the Miami Hurricanes continue hosting official and unofficial visits with numerous high school prospects. Coming off a National Championship, the program displayed a high level of competitiveness, which had been missing for decades. However, several recruits have begun to take notice of the occurring events at South Florida, including Dakota Guerrant, who scheduled a visit on Thursday, April 2. He’s a four-star wide receiver currently attending Harper Wood High School, a public institution located in Wayne County, Michigan.

Guerrant caught 38 passes for 627 yards, scoring nine touchdowns in 13 games over three seasons. The Michigan native is ranked 39th nationally, seventh among wide receivers, and first in the state for the class of 2027, according to Rivals Industry Rankings. He earned interest and offers from numerous programs, including the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Oregon Ducks, Ohio State Buckeyes, Alabama Crimson Tide, Louisville Cardinals, Auburn Tigers, Texas A&M Aggies, Missouri Tigers, and the reigning National Champion Indiana Hoosiers, along with others.

The Hurricanes have emerged as a desirable destination for wide receivers following Malachi Toney’s historic freshman season. He caught 109 passes for 1,211 yards, scoring 13 total touchdowns in 16 games. The homegrown star played a significant role in the program’s historic season, reaching the National Championship.

Guerrant will have an opportunity to walk around the Coral Gables campus and facility. He has a couple of official scheduled visits during the summer with Oregon and the Michigan Wolverines.

The Hurricanes already secured a couple of elite wide receivers as part of the 2027 recruiting class in Ah’Mari Stevens and Nick Lennear. However, the opportunity to add more promising talent should always be taken in high school recruiting.

Also, Guerrant showed versatility by playing a few snaps at cornerback.

The biggest challenge for the Hurricanes will be to pry the four-star prospect away from staying local. The Wolverines are his homegrown program, approximately 49 miles away from Harper Woods. Guerrant previously made an unofficial visit with the Hurricanes on Sept. 20, 2025.

The four-star wide receiver will have an opportunity to evaluate all options and narrow down towards a final decision. A visit can leave a significant impact on the recruiting process. However, it will not be easy, especially with other programs seriously in the mix.

Guerrant could join the Hurricanes, who are looking to remain in contention. Part of what led to the turnaround was the development of high school recruits, such as All-American edge rusher Rueben Bain Jr., star running back Mark Fletcher Jr., and All-American offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa, among others. Guerrant could help keep the trend going. However, a final decision could come at any moment.
