Long Beach Poly's versatile two-way standout eyes the Miami Hurricanes, weighing offers from top programs as his recruitment heats up.

As the Miami Hurricanes continue to host targeted high school recruits, a visit with three-star athlete Zion Anderson has yet to be determined. He currently attends Long Beach Poly High School, a public institution located in Los Angeles County. Anderson has experience playing on both sides of the field, as a wide receiver and free safety.

Anderson caught 28 passes for 503 yards, scoring five touchdowns in 16 total games over two seasons. Plus, recording 24 total tackles, 16 solos and eight assists, 0.5 tackles for loss, one hurry, and an interception.

The three-star recruit is listed at six feet, 160 pounds, and currently ranked 149th nationally, 16th among athletes, and 10th in the state of California for the class of 2028, according to 247Sports Composite.

Anderson has received interest and offers from a good number of programs early, such as the Tennessee Volunteers, Oregon Ducks, Oregon State Beavers, and California Golden Bears, among others.

As the Hurricanes look to set a date to show him around Coral Gables, the tour has already begun. He scheduled a visit with the UCLA Bruins for Tuesday, followed by a trip to the Midwest with the Nebraska Cornhuskers on March 28, then another local visit with the USC Trojans on April 3.

Other programs looking to schedule a visit with Anderson are the Texas A&M Aggies, Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Georgia Bulldogs.

Usually, it's a challenge for the Hurricanes to recruit across the country. In some cases, players look to stay close to home. However, following a National Championships appearance, the program has emerged as a desirable destination. They're a finalist for five-star athlete Honor Fa'alave Johnson, who's set to announce his commitment on Saturday, March 14, on the CBS Sports College Football YouTube channel.

Anderson is currently a high school sophomore, which could result in more offers coming along the recruitment journey. It's important to schedule the visit soon, so that it sets the tone for the rest of the way.

A factor that could play a role in his decision is knowing who will be running the offense. The Hurricanes are currently riding a three-year streak of acquiring top-market transfer portal quarterbacks.

Despite adding All-ACC Darian Mensah, the 21-year-old is likely a one-and-done situation, similar to Cam Ward and Carson Beck. However, the program has a couple of developing quarterbacks in Luke Nickel and Dereon Coleman. Plus, they're interested and presented offers to a couple of recruits, such as Israel Abrams and Davin Davidson. Roster retention is just as important when working towards a brighter future.

As the Hurricanes are still constructing the recruiting class of 2027, it's good to get work done early.
