It’s getting hard to sit still. Despite it being just under four weeks before the first Michigan State football game, and still a few weeks before college football as a whole kicks off, there’s still nothing else that runs through my mind.
The idea of every team believing this year is the year they can shock the world, much like Indiana did last year.
For those who forgot, the Hoosiers dropped everyone’s jaws as they dropped every team they came up against, running the table and winning the National Championship.
Now, with that showing, every team from Alabama all the way to Central Michigan believes that with the right transfers and coaching combination, anything is possible.
I’m not saying transfers were the reason the Hoosiers won last year, as that conversation is long gone, but I will say that many teams feel like Indiana found the fountain of youth with their win last year, and now teams are trying the same thing.
It’s a copycat league, and we will see how it pays off.
For Spartan fans, that belief system, regardless of actually believing it or not, needs to be the correct way of thinking if the Spartans want any kind of success this year.
After losing over half their team from last year to the transfer portal and graduation, new head coach Pat Fitzgerald was forced to bring in a plethora of players ready to show the world what they have to offer.
It’s one of the most unpredictable seasons for Michigan State in quite some time.
