The North Carolina Tar Heels have a big game this weekend.

The North Carolina Tar Heels have looked like one of the more improved teams in college football over the last two weeks.

North Carolina is coming off two big wins over the Pittsburgh Panthers and the rival Duke Blue Devils over the last few weeks. This has allowed the Tar Heels to be seen in a new light as the team gets ready for a massive game against the Syracuse Orange.

The Tar Heels will be hosting Syracuse this week, with the game being sold out. The North Carolina fans seem to be embracing this team this year, and the players out on the field have shown up for them.

North Carolina holds a record of 4-2 on the season entering the game, going 2-1 in ACC play this year. As for the Orange, they will enter the game with a record of 2-4 on the season, going 0-4 in ACC games.

Coming into the game between the Tar Heels and the Orange, college football analyst David Kenyon of Bleacher Report predicted the outcome. Within this, Kenyon had North Carolina grabbing the win by a score of 30-17.

The Tar Heels have a lot in front of them heading into this game, especially with a showdown next week against the top team in the nation, the Miami Hurricanes. If North Carolina can take care of business against Syracuse, it would give this team more confidence entering the Miami game.

But this contest with the Orange could be a trap game of sorts for North Carolina, and the team must avoid the letdown. Coming off two straight big wins, the Tar Heels have to stay focused on this upcoming game, not what has happened or the contest next week.

This can be tough for any team to deal with, but head coach Bill Belichick will try his best to keep his guys focused. Belichick has been coaching for a long time, with much success, and he understands the definition of a letdown game.

As the Tar Heels prepare for the Orange, the offense is going to have to stay consistent. Quarterback Billy Edwards Jr. has done decently for the team, but North Carolina will need more from him going forward.

If the offense can generate a lot of scoring chances, the Tar Heels should be able to take care of business this week. North Carolina can still make noise in the ACC this year, but it all starts with getting another win this week.

Kickoff between the teams is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. PT/7:30 p.m. ET.
