Bill Belichick chases his first collegiate three-game winning streak in front of a sold-out crowd at Kenan Stadium.

As of Thursday, Oct. 22, the North Carolina Tar Heels vs. Syracuse Orange college football game is officially sold out.

The Week 8 matchup pits a pair of ACC teams against one another in a game that could push Bill Belichick one game closer to making his first bowl game.

UNC is coming off back-to-back wins, though both of those games took place on the road.

The Tar Heels have only had two true home games throughout their first six games of the year, but now they know they'll be in front of a packed Kenan Stadium in Week 8 against the Orange.

Syracuse comes into this one with a less-than-stellar 2-4 record, and they're 0-4 in conference play.

Belichick's Tar Heels are 4-2 overall and 2-1 in ACC action, with that lone loss being a heartbreaker at Clemson in mid-September.

UNC sells out vs. Syracuse

It's important to remember that UNC only won four games all of last season, and two of those came on or after Halloween.

With next week's Halloween game against No. 1 Miami looming, it's incredible to see the year-two turnaround for one of the greatest NFL head coaches in history.

UNC is projected to earn its fifth win of the season against Syracuse, and now they know they'll have a chance to do it in front of a sold-out crowd.

While one of Syracuse's two wins did come on the road, that was in a narrow, one-point overtime victory at UConn.

The Huskies remain independent, and they're 3-3 with those wins coming against Lafayette, Southern Miss, and Temple.

Syracuse's conference losses have come vs. California, at Pittsburgh, at Virginia, and vs. Louisville.

Remember, UNC went to No. 25 Pittsburgh and took down the Panthers, 21-17, back on Saturday, Oct. 10.

That's the only common conference opponent these two teams have faced at this point in the season. UNC doesn't play California, and they'll play Louisville and Virginia in a two-game stretch from Nov. 14-21.

For now, though, all eyes are on this game against Syracuse. A win here would officially give Belichick his first three-game winning streak in his college coaching career.

Last season, he had a pair of back-to-back win stretches, though he wasn't able to get over the hump for that third victory.

Earlier this year, UNC had a chance to record a third straight win before a lengthy weather delay changed everything in that showdown at Memorial Stadium.
