Northwestern is shaking up its roster in a big way this spring.
The Wildcats are in the midst of a massive roster overhaul. Just three players from Northwestern's 2025-26 men's basketball team are returning for the 2026-27 season, and Chris Collins has been hard at work trying to surround Angelo Ciaravino, Jake West and Phoenix Gill with enough talent to compete in the Big Ten.
So far, Collins has welcomed seven transfers to the fold and has signed three incoming freshmen, giving him a 13-man roster mid-way through May.
The longtime head coach of the Wildcats previously released breakdowns of Northwestern's first four transfers: guard LA Pratt and forwards Colin Smith, Jack Karasinski and Luke McEldon. Collins has now added three more transfers — all international — in Drake forward Okku Federikko (Finland), BYU guard Aleksej Kostić (Austria) and Columbia forward Ryan Soulis (Greece).
Here's what Collins said about his newest acquisitions:
F Okku Federikko (Drake)
Redshirt Sophomore | 6-foot-9, 210 lbs
Collins: "Okku Federiko is a long, athletic frontline player who will bring us great versatility and upside. He is a rapidly improving player who will be able to impact the game on both ends of the court. Okku's skill level will enable him to play inside and out on the offensive end, while his mobility on defense allows him to guard multiple positions and provide strong rim protection. We are excited to bring Okku into our Northwestern basketball family, and we look forward to watching him develop in our program."
G Aleksej Kostić (BYU)
Sophomore | 6-foot-5, 197 lbs
Collins: "We are excited to announce the addition of Aleksej Kostić to our Northwestern basketball family. Aleksej brings high-level experience to our program, not only from his year at BYU on an NCAA Tournament team, but also from his time at the international level. He is an elite-level shooter with good size who will bring toughness, competitiveness, and a high basketball IQ to our team. He possesses a top-notch work ethic and character, which will help elevate our culture. We are looking forward to seeing the kind of immediate impact Aleksej can have on this year's team."
F Ryan Soulis (Columbia)
Redshirt Junior | 6-foot-10, 230 lbs
Collins: "We are excited to welcome Ryan Soulis into the Northwestern basketball family. "Ryan will bring much-needed experience, size and a versatile skill set to our frontline. Ryan plays with great energy and a high level of toughness that he is bringing from his three years in college, as well as competing internationally with the youth national team in Greece. We are looking forward to seeing the impact he can make on our team this upcoming year."
