Two former Northwestern offensive linemen have earned another major honor, with Rashawn Slater and Peter Skoronski both landing on PFF’s All-Decade Big Ten Team
Northwestern has produced plenty of talented offensive linemen over the years, but two of the program’s most accomplished recent products have now received another major recognition.
Rashawn Slater and Peter Skoronski were both named to Pro Football Focus’ All-Decade Big Ten Team, recognizing the best players in the conference since 2016.
PFF specifically highlighted the two Northwestern stars at offensive tackle and noted how their success in Evanston has translated into productive NFL careers.
The recognition is another reminder of just how successful Northwestern has been at developing offensive linemen into NFL talent.
Slater spent three seasons with the Wildcats from 2017-19, starting 37 of 38 games. He began his career at right tackle before moving to the left side as a junior, where he started all 11 games and allowed zero sacks.
He earned All-Big Ten recognition during his Northwestern career before entering the 2021 NFL Draft.

In July 2025, the Chargers rewarded him with a four-year, $114 million extension that included $92 million guaranteed. The deal made Slater the highest-paid offensive lineman in NFL history at the time, further demonstrating how highly the Chargers valued the former Wildcat.
Skoronski followed a similar path.
After becoming one of the most accomplished offensive linemen in Northwestern history, Skoronski was selected No. 11 overall by the Tennessee Titans in the 2023 NFL Draft.
He spent his Northwestern career primarily at left tackle, becoming a two-time first-team All-Big Ten selection and one of the most highly regarded offensive linemen in the country.

That development was rewarded again this month.
The Titans agreed to a four-year, $100 million extension with Skoronski, including $88 million guaranteed, making him the highest-paid guard in NFL history.
The timing makes the PFF recognition even more impressive.
Two former Northwestern offensive tackles are now among the highest-paid players at their respective positions in the NFL, while both were developed into NFL first-round picks after starring in Evanston.
Slater and Skoronski also represent two different eras of Northwestern football, but their careers show the same thing: the Wildcats have consistently been capable of developing offensive linemen who can compete at the highest level.
For Northwestern, having two players on PFF’s All-Decade Big Ten Team is more than a historical achievement.
It is another example of what the program can offer players who develop in Evanston.
Both Slater and Skoronski left Northwestern as highly regarded prospects. Both became first-round NFL Draft picks. And now, both have established themselves as some of the best players at their respective positions in professional football.
As Northwestern enters a new era with a new-look offense and continues to build its program, the success of Slater and Skoronski remains an important example of the talent that has come through Evanston.
