The Ohio State Buckeyes continue to stay hot on the recruiting trail for the 2028 class.
Ryan Day and the Ohio State Buckeyes somehow, someway continue to have an unbelievable start to the 2028 recruiting class.
Just one day after receiving two crystal balls for five-star quarterback Christopher Vargas, they received two more crystal balls for five-star wide receiver Braylon Clark. Clark is a 6'3" receiver who hails from Charlotte, North Carolina.
He is ranked as the No. 7 player in the 2028 class and the No. 3 wide receiver in the class. For those keeping track at home, if the Buckeyes land Clark, they will have the No. 1 and No. 3 wide receivers in the 2028 class. Pretty solid for Ryan Day and his staff.
As it stands right now, Clark has 34 total offers as a rising junior in high school. He comes from Providence High School, where he is a three-sport athlete competing in basketball, track and field, and football.
In his freshman year in 2024, he unofficially hauled in 38 catches for 538 yards and five touchdowns in his very first year. In year two, he went crazy. He hauled in65 catches for 1,093 yards and 12 touchdowns, breaking the high school's single-season receiving record.
His second year catapulted him up the charts, and then the colleges came calling. One offer after another rolled in, and as it sits right now, the Buckeyes are competing with Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks.
On Wednesday, each of On3's recruiting specialists, Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons, predicted that Clark would be a future Buckeye. It's not official by any means, as the crystal ball is just a prediction, but it is a strong one.
The way that the Buckeyes are still pulling in the top talent in the recruiting class is a welcome surprise in my opinion.
After the fire sale of five-star recruits in the transfer portal this year, I predicted that Ryan Day would change his approach to the recruiting game. One thing that I did not consider is the weight that Ohio State pulls.
Kids want to win football games and go to the NFL. The best way to do that in today's day and age is through The Ohio State University. The rich get richer in this case, and the Buckeyes get one step closer to locking down another 2028 elite wide receiver.
