Ohio State Buckeyes star wide reciever Jermiah Smith is taken first overall in a new NFL mock draft.

The Ohio State Buckeyes came into the new college football season ready to prove themselves again after falling short of winning a back-to-back title last season.

Ohio State has a very talented roster, with some believing that they could run the table this season. Both sides of the ball are deep, giving the Buckeyes a genuine chance to win this season.

But the big star on the roster comes from the offense, specifically star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith. Smith is seen as one of, if not the, best wide receivers in college football, and he allows the Buckeyes to dominate on the field.

Last season, Smith caught 87 passes for 1,243 yards and 12 touchdowns. His freshman season was electric as well, with Smith putting up 76 catches for 1,315 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Now, entering his junior season, Smith has been generating a ton of buzz from interested NFL teams. There is speculation that he will forgo his senior season to enter the NFL after this college season.

And in a new mock draft from Bleacher Report, Smith gets taken first overall by the Miami Dolphins. If Smith were to get wind that he could go first overall, he would likely enter the draft, even if the Buckeyes don't win the title this year.

"The Miami Dolphins are the NFL's least talented squad, hence why they're projected to own next year's No. 1 overall draft pick. Obviously, a quarterback should be in play, but Malik Willis did sign a two-year deal. Instead, Miami selects the class' No. 1 overall prospect, Ohio State's Jeremiah Smith, to give Willis a legitimate weapon," Bleacher Report's Scouting Department wrote.

Smith going to the Dolphins could help them increase their offensive production, especially after Miami just lost its two star wide receivers this offseason. Miami let go of Tyreek Hill, while trading Jaylen Waddle to the Denver Broncos.

Most people see the Dolphins as a bottom-tier team this coming season, putting them in a position to get a top pick. Smith could be one of their top targets, if not a quarterback, depending on how the year goes for them.

The Dolphins could be one of the better landing spots for Smith, given the other top teams expected to be in position to take him. Playing in Miami would allow him to be the top option from day one, while giving him a chance to help turn around a struggling franchise.
