The Ohio State Buckeyes skill trio was challenged on Tuesday as the conversation started on who is the best in football.

A weird conversation took over the internet space on Tuesday as ESPN's morning show, Unsportsmanlike, brought an interesting prompt to the table. The question asked was about who has the best quarterback, wide receiver, and running back combination in America.

Former NFL player Chris Canty said that he believes that there is one team that has a better trio than the Buckeyes, and that team is the Miami Hurricanes.

This sparked a conversation about who else would rank at the top of this list, and Texas popped up, Georgia poked its head into the conversation, and Notre Dame was in for a minute and then was out.

The three teams at the top of that list are absolutely the Buckeyes, Hurricanes, and Longhorns.

They all have top-flight quarterbacks; they each have superstar wide receivers, and they have really good running backs. A normal person would say that they are all equal and then move on, but that's no fun.

Going against Ohio State would simply be going against the running back position. Ohio State was led last year by Bo Jackson, who has already been passed up by Isaiah West in this year's fall camp. There is a fair question to be asked about this position group, and the Buckeyes are not going to be in a bad place; it just might not be the best in America.

Ohio State's week two matchup, the Texas Longhorns are full of superstars. The Arch Manning-to-Cam Coleman connection has the opportunity to be very special next year if they click right away. Their backfield is made up of two transfers who again could be good, but need to prove it.

Raleek Brown comes to Texas via Arizona State, while Hollywood Smothers comes from NC State after transferring from Oklahoma. It will be a formidable bunch, but still unproven.

That trio down in Miami is loaded. Quarterback Darian Mensah is going to catch a lot of people by surprise next year. He has all of the tools to be the next great quarterback; he was just hidden down in Durham at Duke for the past couple of years.

Malachi Toney will be regarded as the best wide receiver in college football, not named Jeremiah Smith. He is every bit worth the price of admission, and he is going to be a star. In the backfield, the heart of the Hurricanes, Mark Fletcher Jr., is back for more to prove next year.

Taking all three positions into consideration, the Hurricanes being the top group is nearly impossible to argue with. The Buckeyes, for my money, slot in at No. 2, and then Texas is No. 3.

Put whoever you want at spots four through 137 because these three stand alone way ahead of the rest of college football.
