The Buckeyes' quarterback room is now scheduled to go from one five-star to another for the next five years.

It isn't hyperbole to say that the Ohio State Buckeyes' quarterback room is in the best shape heading into the future out of any program in America.

The standard at Ohio State is the best or nothing, and the quarterback room is the perfect example of just this. After the news from Saturday that Christopher Vargas committed to The Ohio State University, the future is bright in both the short and long term.

Ohio State has the opportunity to go at least five straight seasons with a five-star at the helm. It is current quarterback Julian Sayin to finish out this year, Tavien St. Clair to take over for at least one season, but maybe two, and then Vargas to take over for two or three after that.

Now, if all goes as planned, Sayin will do his thing this year and go in the first round of the NFL Draft. Then, if St. Clair plays well enough next year, he will be draft-eligible. He will likely want to stay for two seasons but could be eligible to go to the big leagues.

Then, it is Vargas who takes the reins. Vargas is a really interesting prospect for the Buckeyes. If a quarterback were built in a lab, he would be built the way that Vargas is built.

Vargas stands at 6'4 and has an arm that can reach all parts of the field. He obviously isn't a finished product; no one is at 16, but he is a ball of clay that cannot be denied. The comparisons to CJ Stroud are obvious, and if he strives to be just that, the Buckeyes will be in great hands.

The very unique part of this stretch of Buckeyes' football is that they are three of the best quarterbacks for their classes in college football, but three totally different players.

Sayin is an undersized five-star talent who earned his ranking by having a surgically accurate arm and elite decision-making.

St. Clair, from just 30 minutes east of Columbus, earned his ranking by being a physically dominant player who could throw it over you or run through your face. He brings it all to the table and will be a force to be reckoned with.

Vargas comes from the East Coast with the perfect quarterback build. He has the arm that every coach dreams of having, and as he continues to develop his game over his final two years of high school, he will have the chance to come to Columbus and rewrite the record books.

Three players, 15 stars combined, and one program standard to uphold. Ohio State is in another golden age.
