Porter Moser faces a daunting gauntlet as Kentucky, Tennessee, and Texas headline a physical home slate designed to test the Sooners’ mettle in a loaded conference

The SEC dropped the home and away opponents for the 2026-27 men’s basketball season on Thursday, and Oklahoma drew another tough slate.

The Sooners will host Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Vanderbilt at Lloyd Noble Center.

On the road, they’ll head to Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Ole Miss, Missouri, Texas, and Texas A&M.

Each team plays every other SEC school at least once, with three opponents getting the home-and-home treatment. For OU, those are Georgia, Missouri, and Texas.

By comparison, OU's locked opponents in football are Ole Miss, Missouri, and Texas. On the women's side, the Sooners play in a 16-game slate with South Carolina as the only home-and-home competitor.

Conference play kicks off January 2nd and runs through March 6th. The SEC Tournament is March 10-14 in Nashville at Bridgestone Arena.

This league is loaded again. Last season the SEC sent a nation-leading 10 teams to the NCAA Tournament, and six of those squads (Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, Tennessee, Texas, and Vanderbilt) will come to Norman this upcoming season.

Over the last two seasons, the conference has produced 24 NCAA Tournament teams. Night in and night out, it’s going to be physical, talented, and unforgiving.

Porter Moser is going to have his hands full. Getting good home crowds and strong performances against Kentucky, Tennessee, and Texas will be huge for building momentum.

The road games at Alabama, Florida, and Texas A&M won’t be any easier. This is exactly the kind of gauntlet that either breaks you or makes you better.

Here’s the full list of opponents:

We still don’t have dates and times for the non-conference schedule beyond the known games in Paris against North Carolina and the SEC/ACC Challenge against Syracuse, but those should drop soon.

This is going to be another step-up year for the program. With Aaliyah Chavez and Sahara Williams back on the women’s side getting attention, the men need to do their part to keep the energy high around the program.

Lloyd Noble has been tough to fill in recent years, so getting some of these ranked teams at home should help create some big atmospheres if the team is playing well.

Overall, it’s a fair but challenging slate. The SEC isn’t handing out easy weeks anymore. Every night is going to be a battle.

If Moser’s group can hold serve at home and steal a few on the road, they should have a chance to make some noise in March again.
