Oregon Ducks quarterback Dante Moore sent a clear message on how he thinks the 2026 season will go.
The Oregon Ducks are entering the new college football season with high expectations.
But the only goal of the season is to win the National Championship after it has eluded the program for so long. However, there are many people in college football who believe that the Ducks have the deepest roster in the sport this season.
Oregon is led by quarterback Dante Moore, who put together a very special season a year ago. Moore threw for 3,565 yards with 30 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, playing in 15 games for the Ducks.
With Moore returning to college this season, Oregon feels great about their chances this year. Even Moore himself is excited to see how the year turns out, and he had some comments on the expectations entering the season.
Speaking with Nick Hamilton of Nitecast Media, Moore gave his thoughts on the upcoming year.
"This year is gonna be a great year. This offseason was probably one of the greatest offseasons I've ever had. It was me pushing myself and also the coaches pouring into me. But my decision coming back, there was a lot I had to learn, a lot I had to keep sharpening with my tools and my team, you know, we all love each other; we all appreciate each other. And if everybody has any issues or anything they need to work out, we're gonna make sure we give the full effort, help them out, but we're excited for this year; it's gonna be a great year," Moore said.
Head coach Dan Lanning will work with Moore again to put him in places for success. But it will be up to Moore to execute when the games matter the most.
His first year with Oregon should give him more experience, and he can learn from this. Before coming to the Ducks, Moore hadn't seen much playing time, let alone time with a team with such high pressure to win.
Now entering his second season as the starter, Moore could be even better. But the pressure to win is still there, and if he can't deliver, that narrative will stick with him.
The Ducks have the talent to finally win it all, but they'll have to prove themselves out on the field once again.
Moore and the Ducks open the season against Boise State later today, with kickoff set for 12:30 p.m. PT/3:30 p/m ET from Autzen Stadium.
