After a rough spell of losing out on some top-tier players, Oregon has bounced back in a big way.
The Oregon Ducks have established themselves as a class above when it comes to college football, and thanks to Dan Lanning, their recruiting for the program has seen a major uptick over his time in Eugene.
They've boasted some of the best recruiting classes in school history, including the best class of all time at Oregon. This offseason, they hit a bit of a rough patch for a couple of weeks, specifically in the Southern California region.
Three stellar high school players, Honor Fa'alave Johnson, Danny Lang, and Drew Fielder, all chose the Ducks' in-conference rivals, the USC Trojans. They were even able to flip Fielder, who was an Oregon commit.
Since then, Oregon has proved why they're the big brother in this relationship by flexing their muscles nationally, versus just in one region. This was put on display just the other day when Oregon signed 4-star edge rusher Rashad Streets from North Carolina, who's 61st best player and the 7th best edge rusher in the country.
Today, Oregon repeated their success by signing yet another star from Alabama.
Oregon Ducks Sign 4-Star CB Ai'King Hall
The Oregon Ducks signed 4-star cornerback Ai'King Hall today and continued to show how much weight the Oregon brand carries nationwide. Hall chose Oregon over schools like Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Texas A&M, and Ole Miss.
Hall is ranked as a top 40 player nationally and the 7th-rated cornerback per On3. He is the top player in the state of Alabama.
The elite corner made his first visit to Eugene this past weekend, and Dan Lanning and company made quick work of this process, securing a commitment on Monday. With this commitment, the Ducks have vaulted themselves back into the top-10 nationally in recruiting classes.
The Ducks have now been able to pull a top player out of the state of Alabama for a third year in a row, after signing 5-star DB Na’eem Offord in 2025 and 5-star EDGE Anthony Jones in 2026.
This is exactly why, if you're a program like USC that is 8-2 against Oregon over the last 10 games, as much as you might want to strut your stuff after a run of commitments, it's best to focus on what's going on in-house.
