Dante Moore of the Oregon Ducks opened up about how his trip to Japan this summer opened up a new outlook on everything for him.
Oregon Ducks quarterback Dante Moore is seen as one of the best in college football this season, and for good reason.
Moore put together a special year with the Ducks a year ago, helping Oregon reach the College Football Playoff. While the team wasn't able to get over the hump to win it all, the pieces are in place for the upcoming season.
The signal-caller threw for 3,565 yards with 30 touchdowns and 10 interceptions a year ago, playing in 15 games. Moore will need to limit the turnovers this season, giving the Ducks a better chance to win.
But over the offseason, Moore and several teammates decided to take a trip to Japan, trying to see more of the world. His visit opened his eyes to how other cultures do things, and he's grateful for the experience.
Speaking with Nick Hamilton of Nitecast Media, Moore detailed his time in the country..
"Japan was great; it was the cleanest place I've ever been to in my life, the most respectful place. Just being there just makes you think of how you are treating yourself and how are you treating people around you. Every time I feel like I walked to a building, everybody nodded their heads, treated you with respect, and I kind of feel like the whole world should be like that. Not saying it's always going to be great days and happy sunshine and rainbows, but at the end of the day, you just got to respect people in this world," Moore said.
Moore's comments are part of why so many people are rooting fior his success this year. The Ducks quarterback seems to have a strong head of his shoulers, and he understands the platform that he has been given by playing football.
This is a strong message from Moore, and something that the world needs to hear more often. But it could also help him on the football field, especially when it comes to facing off against opponents.
