A star on the Oregon Ducks lands in the perfect spot, with a recent Super Bowl winner in a new 2027 NFL Mock Draft.
The Oregon Ducks have all sorts of talent across the roster this year, with some around the country viewing them as the deepest team in the country.
This is also why many believe that the Ducks are legitimate contenders to win the National Championship. But Oregon will have to go through the ups and downs of the long season before they can accomplish this, being tested throughout.
The Oregon offense is as explosive as ever, but the defense is where the team will make its calling cards. The Ducks have some dynamic playmakers on the unit, giving them a well-rounded roster.
One of them is edge Matayo Uiagalelei, who has been excellent for the Ducks over his time with the program. Uiagalelei has spent his entire college career with Oregon, being an explosive presence for this defensive unit.
In his career, Uiagalelei has played in 43 games, recording 19.5 sacks, one interception, and 98 total tackles. Over the last two seasons, Uiagalelei has played more linebacker, showing some versatility for interested NFL teams.
And in a new 2027 NFL Mock Draft by Bleacher Report's Scouting Department, Uiagalelei was taken in the first-round. Uiagalelei was taken with the No. 30 pick, going to the defending Super Bowl champions, the Seattle Seahawks.
"The Seattle Seahawks are old on the edges of their defense. DeMarcus Lawrence is 34 and entering his final professional season. Uchenna Nwosu, who turns 30 later this year, is a free agent after this season. Dante Fowler Jr., 32, is only signed through this season. Oregon's Matayo Uiagalelei showed he can come up with big plays when necessary to open this year's college football season, which makes him the perfect addition in Seattle's aggressive defense," Bleacher Report's Scouting Department wrote.
Seattle has made a living off getting to the quarterback, generating a ton of pressure in the abckfield. Uiagalelei could help take this team back to that level, and they have lost a lot of talent since winning the Super Bowl.
Putting him into the Seahawks' schemes could be special, and Uiagalelei could end up being one of the top pass rushers from this class.
Seattle is a perfect landing spot for the Ducs star, and he could be taken even higher if he puts together a strong rest of the 2026 season. His future seems to be him playing on Sundays, and going to a team like the Seahawks could unlock a lot for Uiagalelei.
