Bo Nix has had an interesting NFL career since he left Oregon.
The Oregon Ducks have been one of the more successful football programs in recent memory, even if the team hasn't been able to win the championship.
Almost every year the Ducks have a top offensive attack, giving them a chance to win the title. And at the center of that offense is a star quarterback, who is consistently in the Heisman Trophy race.
This has also led players to be drafted high in the NFL Draft, giving the Ducks a strong legacy in the league. One player who has made waves in the league of late from Oregon is former quarterback Bo Nix, currently with the Denver Broncos.
Denver drafted Nix with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, and he has gone 29-12 as the team's starter. Nix has led the Broncos to the playoffs twice, going 1-1 in postseason games so far.
But last year, Nix suffered a broken ankle in the postseason, ending his season early for the Broncos. Nix has returned this year, but he has struggled to find his footing so far as he works his way back.
Given the year that he has put together, it's safe to say that Nix doesn't have a lot of faith in him from people around the league. The former Oregon star has thrown for 1,271 yards with seven touchdowns and three interceptions this year.
Entering Week 8 of the NFL season, Nix has been ranked toward the bottom of a new quarterback list, with the Broncos starter coming in at No. 28. NFL.com analyst Nick Shook put together a ranking of every starter heading into the new week, with him placing Nix in a tough spot.
Nix does have the Broncos sitting with a record of 5-2 on the season, but he hasn't looked the part so far. Denver has relied on a strong defense to carry them while Nix gets his footing back from the injury.
But the Broncos are going to need Nix to figure it out if this team is going to win a Super Bowl this season. The former Oregon star will have to be able to make big-time throws in tight games down the stretch, and he'll need to prove himself.
For now, Nix will continue to work his way back from thje brutal injury, with the Oregon faithful rooting for him to succeed. But whether he can stay the course for the Broncos down the line remains to be seen.
