Matt Campbell and the Penn State Nittany Lions came away with a win in Week 2 over Temple.
The Penn State Nittany Lions came away with a 27-9 victory over the Temple Owls in Week 2. It wasn't the Nittany Lions' best showing, but they still cruised to the win after a scoreless first quarter.
Quarterback Rocco Becht heated up throughout the game and completed 21 of 28 passes for 273 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions while rushing for 10 yards on four carries.
Tight end Benjamin Brahmer was the beneficiary of two of Becht's touchdown throws and also had 79 yards on five receptions.
In the run game, Carson Hansen led the way for Penn State, rushing for 78 yards on 19 carries, but did not find the end zone.
Wide receiver Chase Sowell hauled in the other touchdown, with five receptions for 58 yards and a touchdown. Koby Howard was also impactful in the receiving game with three receptions for 68 yards.

On defense, Tony Rojas came away with an interception while Yvan Kemajou had a sack. They didn't allow a touchdown until Temple's final drive of the game.
Through the first two weeks of the season, Matt Campbell's group is playing at a high level and could move up more in the AP Poll.
The Nittany Lions are currently the 16th-ranked team in the country and have the talent to make a push to the College Football Playoff. Campbell came to Penn State after having a ton of success with the Iowa State Cyclones, winning three Big 12 Coach of the Year awards during his decade-long tenure.
Campbell has instantly brought Penn State back to success, largely due to the additions he made through the transfer portal.
The Nittany Lions will take on the Buffalo Bulls in Week 3 at home and will look to improve to 3-0, just a season removed from finishing 7-6 and missing out on the College Football Playoff.
