Ticket prices for Saturday's White Out against USC continue to plummet as we inch closer to kickoff.

Kickoff for the biggest game on the Penn State calendar is inching closer to 72 hours away, and ticket prices for said game continue to fall significantly.

The 3-2 Penn State Nittany Lions welcomed the 4-1, No. 19-ranked USC Trojans to Happy Valley in what was slated to be the game of the year for the Nittany Lions about six weeks ago. Everyone had this circled as the game that Penn State was going to prove themselves, but that has all changed.

In the first five weeks of the year, Matt Campbell's team has thoroughly beaten the teams that they were supposed to, but fell in ridiculous, disgusting fashion against the two quality opponents on their schedule.

It is a very uncomfortable time for the Penn State fans because no one really knows what this team is. They are closer to a bad team than they are to a good team, and that is disappointing on many levels.

However, there is still at least a glimmer of hope for Penn State fans that this was still the correct hire. There is a lot of work to be done to prove this still, and Saturday would be a really good time to get that started.

However, they are going to do that in front of a crowd that is likely not going to be a full one. As of Thursday, the get-in price for the white out game on Saturday is just $60 dollars. Now, for as big a stadium as Penn State has, that doesn't seem all that bad. However, look back just one year, and the White Out against Oregon, the average ticket price was over $700.

There are a lot of different ways to look at this and consider what is going on for the Nittany Lions, but two things can be true. The first is that Penn State has had two very disappointing weeks, especially coming off of the debacle that was last season.

The interest around this program is pretty low right now until they prove that they can win.

The other side of the coin is that this price level opens up the game to the fans who have been priced out in other games. Most people and most families can't afford multiple $700-plus tickets. However, they can afford multiple $60 tickets.

Hopefully, the stadium is packed out by some crazy fans who are still bought in on the Nittany Lions program. It is a game that Penn State absolutely needs to have and could turn their entire season around.
