Penn State Lands Two Offensive Star on 2025 AP All-American Teams cover image

The Penn State Nittany Lions managed to have two offensive star receive AP All-American honors this year.

Despite having an underwhelming 6-6 record over the course of the 2025 college football regular season, the Penn State Nittany Lions have managed to land two stars on this year’s AP All-American Team.

On Monday afternoon, the AP All-American Teams were released, which were flooded with multiple players from the Big Ten Conference. Luckily for the struggling program, Penn State star offensive guard Olaivavega Ioane was named to the second team for his incredible efforts this season.

The former three-star prospect in the Nittany Lions' 2022 recruiting class entered this year with high expectations after a dominant 2024 season, which were easily met in 2025.

Ioane allowed just four quarterback hurries up front, along with zero sacks on 310 pass plays. He finished his redshirt junior year as PFF’s 20th-best offensive guard and was a true staple of Penn State’s offensive line.

Unfortunately for newly-hired head coach Matt Campbell, Ioane’s dominant season has quickly made him a top prospect in the 2026 NFL Draft, as he is a consensus round-one offensive lineman. Ioane also recently opted out of the team’s bowl game against the Clemson Tigers to prepare for the draft.

In addition to the team’s star left tackle, running back Kaytron Allen earned third-team all-honors following the conclusion of the 2025 regular season.

Allen, who was a talented four-star prospect in the Nittany Lions’ historic 2022 recruiting class, finished his senior season as Penn State’s leading rusher with 1,303 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns on 210 carries. His efforts this year paved the way for him to break the program’s total rushing yards record, which was originally held by former standout running back Evan Royster.

Similar to Ioane, the star playmaker recently announced that he has opted out of the Pinstripe Bowl to focus on the 2026 NFL Draft.

Thanks to his outstanding final season with Penn State, Allen could be one of the top running backs in the upcoming draft. Outside of Notre Dame Fighting Irish rusher Jeremiyah Love, the 2026 running back class is weak, making him a prime candidate to boost his draft stock before April.
