He becomes the 180th Mustang drafted in program history and the highest SMU player selected since Rashee Rice in 2023.
For SMU, the pick continues a strong run of tight ends reaching the league. Hibner is the third Mustang tight end drafted this decade, joining Grant Calcaterra in 2022 and Kylen Granson in 2021. He is also the fourth player drafted under head coach Rhett Lashlee.
Hibner started all 13 games in his final season and delivered one of the most complete years of his college career. He caught 31 passes for 436 yards and four touchdowns, including an 80-yard reception that showed his ability to create explosive plays.
The Virginia native also brought value beyond the stat sheet. Hibner earned All-ACC honorable mention recognition and was named a Campbell Trophy semifinalist, an honor that reflects both football production and academic achievement. He also earned academic all-conference recognition in each of the past four years.
That combination of size, production, reliability and intelligence makes him an intriguing fit for Baltimore. The Ravens have long valued tight ends who can handle multiple roles, and Hibner gives them another option with receiving upside and proven durability.
Now, after a strong finish at SMU, Hibner gets his chance to prove he belongs in one of the NFL’s most tight-end-friendly offenses.
