SMU’s Brooke Bunton and Kamiya Beck were named to the U.S. U-18 Women’s National Team camp, keeping both in the U-20 World Cup mix.
SMU women’s soccer just got another national-stage flex.
Mustangs standouts Brooke Bunton and Kamiya Beck have been selected for the U.S. U-18 Women’s National Team training camp in Fayetteville, Ga., giving SMU one of the strongest college footprints on the roster.
The camp runs June 25-July 3 at the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center and will be held alongside the U.S. U-19 Women’s National Team.
The U-18 roster includes 11 college players, and SMU is one of only two programs with multiple selections, joining North Carolina.
For a Mustangs program trying to keep pushing its national profile, having two players in a U.S. Soccer camp is the kind of attention that travels.
Bunton, a midfielder from Green Cove Springs, Florida, continues to stack call-ups like it’s becoming routine. This marks her fourth U-18 national team selection this year and the fifth of her career.
She was also part of the U-18 international training camp in Bulgaria earlier this month, showing she’s clearly staying in the national team picture.
Beck, a forward from Lancaster, Texas, is back with the U-18 group for the second time in her career after earning a spot on the Pinatar Cup 2026 roster earlier this spring.
Both SMU players already delivered in U.S. colors. Bunton and Beck helped the U.S. U-18 squad win the Pinatar Cup in Spain, appearing in two international matches as the Americans hammered Sweden’s U-18 team 8-0 and Hungary’s U-19 team 6-0. Bunton also captained the U.S. side against Sweden.
The bigger prize is still out there.
Players born on or after Jan. 1, 2006, remain eligible for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.
That means Bunton and Beck aren’t just showing up for another camp. They’re fighting to stay in the conversation for one of the biggest youth soccer stages in the world.
For SMU, that’s exactly the kind of offseason buzz you want.
