SMU men’s tennis rolled past Louisville 4-0 as Trevor Svajda stayed red-hot and the Mustangs grabbed another key ACC win at home in Dallas.

DALLAS - SMU men’s tennis kept its strong home form rolling Sunday, knocking off Louisville 4-0 in an ACC matchup at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex.

The Mustangs took control early with the doubles point, then never let the Cardinals breathe as Trevor Svajda, Krish Arora and Jerry Barton quickly finished the job in singles.

That fast start has become a big part of SMU’s formula. The Mustangs came out sharp in doubles and grabbed momentum right away with wins on courts two and three.

Trevor Svajda and Jerry Barton continued their productive run as a pair with a 6-2 victory, while Georgi Georgiev and Vikas Deo delivered another clutch result to secure the opening point.

That pushed Georgiev and Deo to 11-3 together, the best doubles mark on the team this season.

Once singles began, SMU turned the match into a rout.

Svajda, ranked No. 1 nationally, was overwhelming again on court one. He didn’t drop a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win, stretching his singles winning streak to 10 matches.

The junior is now 18-1 in singles play this spring and continues to look like one of the most dominant players in college tennis.

Arora followed with an important straight-sets win on court four, beating Pedro Cressoni 6-3, 6-2 to give the Mustangs even more breathing room.

Then Barton slammed the door on court five with another 6-3, 6-2 result, clinching the team victory and improving to 14-5 in singles. Just as impressive, 10 of Barton’s wins this season have come in straight sets.

The sweep lifted SMU to 16-9 overall and 6-4 in ACC play, another solid step for a team trying to build momentum late in the regular season.

The Mustangs have also continued to own this matchup at home, staying unbeaten against Louisville in Dallas.

Now SMU heads back on the road for its next ACC test at Georgia Tech on Thursday.

If the Mustangs bring this same energy into Atlanta, they’ll have a real shot to keep climbing.
