SMU midfielder Brooke Bunton is headed back to international competition after earning another U.S. U-18 Women's National Team selection.

SMU women’s soccer continues to make noise on the international stage, and Brooke Bunton is right in the middle of it.

The rising Mustangs midfielder has been selected once again to represent the United States, earning a spot on the U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team roster for an upcoming international competition in Bulgaria.

It marks yet another milestone in what’s quickly becoming a breakout year for one of SMU’s brightest young talents.

For Bunton, these call-ups are becoming routine—but that doesn’t make them any less impressive.

The midfielder will join a roster loaded with elite young players from across the country, including standouts from programs like North Carolina, Notre Dame and USC.

The squad will spend 10 days overseas competing against older international opponents, a challenge designed to accelerate player development and prepare future stars for higher levels of competition.

That challenge should suit Bunton just fine.

She has already proven she can thrive on the international stage this year.

Earlier in the spring, she helped lead Team USA to a dominant tournament title in Spain.

The Americans overwhelmed their competition, outscoring opponents by a combined 14-0 margin.

Bunton even wore the captain’s armband during one of those victories, a sign of the trust and respect she has earned within the national team program.

Now she gets another opportunity to strengthen her case as one of the country's top young midfielders.

The upcoming event will feature matches against Ukraine’s U-19 squad and Benin’s U-20 national team.

While the age gap creates an additional challenge, it also gives American players a chance to test themselves against older, more physically mature competition.

For SMU, Bunton’s continued rise is another sign that the program is attracting and developing high-level talent capable of competing on the world stage.

The Mustangs have steadily elevated their profile since joining the ACC, and having a player regularly featured in the U.S. Soccer pipeline only reinforces that momentum.

Bunton's focus may be on Bulgaria for now, but every international appearance adds another chapter to a career that appears to be trending in a very exciting direction.

SMU fans should be paying attention.
