SMU volleyball is headed to one of the biggest stages in sports, and this isn’t just another early-season showcase.

It will mark the first women’s college sporting event ever held inside the home of the Dallas Cowboys.
That alone makes it a milestone. The field makes it even bigger.
SMU enters the event ranked No. 11 in the AVCA poll, while Nebraska comes in at No. 2. Florida and Penn State bring more national brand power to a three-hour format that will include two semifinal matches and a final. Each match will be played as a three-set contest.
There’s also serious money attached. The event will feature a $1 million prize pool, billed as the largest ever for a women’s college sports event.
The production team behind the event knows how to build a spectacle.
The group has worked on major entertainment and sports properties, including the ESPY Awards, NFL Honors and the Met Gala livestream. Now, that same big-event treatment is coming to college volleyball.
For SMU, this is another sign of how far the program has climbed.
Sharing a stage with Nebraska, Florida and Penn State gives the Mustangs a national spotlight before the season truly takes shape.
Tickets are already generating interest, with presale options starting at $26. Regular tickets are scheduled to become available May 8.
