SMU volleyball standouts Favor Anyanwu and Suli Davis were named to the 2026 U.S. Women’s U21 National Team, adding more international honors.
SMU volleyball picked up a big offseason win Monday as Favor Anyanwu and Suli Davis were both named to the 2026 U.S. Women’s U21 National Team, giving the Mustangs two representatives on one of the top age-group rosters in the country.
That’s a major nod for the program and another sign that SMU continues to produce high-level talent with international credibility.
Anyanwu, a rising junior middle blocker, already owns an impressive résumé with Team USA. She has helped the United States capture three gold medals, winning titles at the 2023 FIVB U19 World Championship, the 2024 U21 Continental Championship, and the 2025 U21 Pan American Cup.
In that most recent event, she was also recognized as the Second Best Middle Blocker, adding an individual honor to an already stacked list of accomplishments.
Davis, a rising sophomore outside hitter, has built plenty of momentum of her own. She has been part of the USA U19 National Team for the last three years and most recently earned silver at the 2025 FIVB U19 World Championship.
She also left that tournament with a major individual award after being named the Best Outside Hitter.
For SMU, having two players selected to the U.S. Women’s U21 National Team roster is a huge spotlight moment.
The 27-player pool includes some of the best young volleyball talent in the country, and only a portion of that group will ultimately compete in this summer’s international events.
The athletes chosen for the 2026 NORCECA Women’s U21 Pan American Cup training group will report to Columbus, Ohio, from June 26 through July 5, with competition set for July 7-12.
Anyanwu and Davis aren’t just earning roster spots. They’re strengthening SMU’s national profile in a big way.
With proven success on the international stage and more opportunities ahead this summer, both Mustangs are putting themselves in position for even bigger seasons once they return to Dallas.
