Jennings knows that despite being an unranked team, the Cavaliers pose a serious threat to the Mustangs.

The SMU Mustangs will host the Virginia Cavaliers on Saturday at Gerald J. Ford Stadium, as Rhett Lashlee's team looks to come out of their bye week with a bang.

The Mustangs are at 4-1 and have been a little inconsistent throughout the first five weeks and will want to smooth out their operation.

As for the Cavaliers, they boast one of the best pass defenses in the ACC and, sitting at 4-2 after a 28-25 win over Syracuse, they will be confident they can come to Ford Stadium and cause an upset.

With Kevin Jennings and the offense coming off a very different performance in their last game, that saw the Mustangs not put up video game numbers, but also didn't turn the ball over, that is the recipe here.

And as for Jennings, he knows the threats Virginia possesses.

"Yeah, they're a super good team," Jennings said. "They play hard, they stop the pass game, stop the run game. So, I think it's our accountability just to step in and execute our base of go in there and just build our temp. I think we'll be fine. Just watching them, they fly around the ball really good.

"So just making sure I'm able to get the ball in space and let our playmakers go make plays."

Averaging over 32 points per game on offense and allowing just 19 on defense, the Mustangs are going to have their hands full with the Cavaliers.

Beau Pribula has thrown for 13 touchdowns and just one interception, along with 1,074 passing yards, so getting him to turn the ball over has been tough for defenses this year.

Virginia's run game with Jekail Middlebrook (337 yards, 3 TDs), Xay Davis (199 yards, 2 TDs), and Xavier Brown (169 yards, 2 TDs) has some potency to it as well, so the Mustangs' defense will have its hands full.

Given that the Mustangs are fresh coming off the bye, are at home, and maybe have found the formula to winning football games after the Boston College outing, Lashlee's team should have enough to get this win and move to 5-1.

But as we know, upsets are everywhere in college football through the first five weeks, and SMU won't want to add their name to the list of favorites that get beat...at home.

So, everyone is on alert here, because the Mustangs know this won't be no walk in the park.
