The Orange will conclude their regular season Saturday against Pittsburgh.

Syracuse lost to Louisville 77-62 in their final regular season road game of the 2025 season on Tuesday night. The Orange are now 15-15 and 6-11 in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) play.

Naithan George led the team in scoring with 16 points. George also added one rebound and one assist. Donnie Freeman notched a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds and his teammate, William Kyle III, finished second in rebounds with seven while scoring eight points.

Inside the numbers

--Louisville's 14 three pointers made was the most by any Syracuse opponent all season.

--While the Cardinals were hot from beyond the arc, Syracuse was the opposite. The Orange missed their first 12 attempts from deep. Syracuse shot just 21% on three-point attempts, a total of 4-for-19.

--The Cardinals entered the contest as a 13 point favorite and dominated the first half, leading 39-21.

--Ryan Conwell led the scoring and rebounding for Louisville with 23 points and seven boards. Adrian Wooley fell short of a double-double, posting eight points and seven rebounds.

Losing season number six at stake

Syracuse enters its final regular season contest on Saturday at 15-15 on the season. If the Orange lose to Pittsburgh, this team will join just five other teams in 125 years of program history with a losing record.  The most recent losing season came last season when the Orange finished 14-19. Before the 2024-2025 season, the Orange were 16-17 in the 2021-2022 season under Jim Boeheim. Before 2022, the Orange had not had a losing season since 1969.

ACC tournament seeding implications

The Tuesday night loss guarantees the Orange can finish no higher than the 12th seed in the final ACC regular season standings. Virginia Tech defeated Boston College 72-63, giving the Hokies their eighth conference win of the season. Syracuse has just six conference wins with one game left to play. Tuesday's loss also guarantees the Orange will start their conference tournament on Tuesday, March 10. The result of Saturday's contest will determine the final seed and tip off time for the Orange.

Saturday's regular season finale
