Tommy DeVito has his NFL home set as free agency begins on Monday.

The NFL free agency period begins on Monday afternoon, but one former Syracuse player won't be exposed to the process after all.

Quarterback Tommy DeVito has signed a two-year deal to remain with the New England Patriots, where he spent the end of the 2025 campaign. New England advanced to the Super Bowl before losing 29-13 to the Seattle Seahawks. Regardless, it was a great season for the Patriots and DeVito will get an opportunity to be a part of the organization's continued growth.

Adam Schefter of ESPN had the contract information on social media:

New England reached agreement today with QB Tommy DeVito on a two-year, $7.4 million deal that includes $2 million guaranteed, per his agent @seanstellato.

About Devito at Syracuse

Devito spent four years at Syracuse before playing his fifth and final season at Illinois.

With the Orange, he played 27 games over four years (2018-2021), registering a 58.9 percent completion percentage and throwing 28 touchdowns vs. 12 interceptions. His best season was 2019, when he played in 12 games and threw 19 touchdowns vs. just five picks.

Syracuse won the Camping World Bowl in 2018, which was the only season in which Devito was part of a team with a winning record (10-3). The Camping World Bowl is now the Pop-Tarts Bowl.

About DeVito in the NFL

The 27-year-old New Jersey native was undrafted but made waves with the New York Giants in 2023, going 3-3 as a starter in six games. He threw eight touchdowns against three interceptions in that run. He went 0-2 in 2024 and did not play in a game in 2025.

As a result, SU will have to wait until March 15 to learn its NCAA Tournament fate. The Orange are expected to make the tournament after a 22-win regular season.

We will have to see if senior leader Dominique Darius will be able to play in the tournament, as she left Thursday's second-round win against Cal with a finger injury.

--The SU men will finish up the regular season on Saturday afternoon (4:30 p.m. ET) against Pitt. The 15-15 Orange are looking to solidify a winning regular season. Freshman Kiyan Anthony won't play in the game, and we'll have live coverage from the JMA Wireless Dome.
