Boeheim had an opinion on how the Orange should handle end-of-game situations with regards to Kiyan Anthony.

The Syracuse University men's basketball team returns home on Tuesday night to take on Monmouth (9 pm. ET). The Orange are 3-0 and coming off a dynamic 80-50 win over Drexel on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks are 1-2.

Despite the solid success thus far, the Orange do enter the contest with a big question regarding the lineup: JJ Starling is back from a leg injury that has sidelined him since the opener. Will he instantly return to the starting lineup or will freshman Kiyan Anthony remain?

If Anthony remains, will he stay in Starling's spot, or take someone else's?

We covered that issue in this article below:

Syracuse Gets Good Injury News, But it Comes with Interesting Dilemma Syracuse Gets Good Injury News, But it Comes with Interesting Dilemma J.J. Starling will be back on the floor on Tuesday night when the Orange host Monmouth, so what happens to Kiyan Anthony?

However, rather than focusing on the beginning of the game, the hosts at 'Cuse Sports Talk were focused on end-of-game situations on Tuesday morning. They wanted to know if Anthony should be on the floor at the end of close games rather than guard Nate Kingz.

Luckily, someone experienced in such decisions had some ideas: Hall of Fame coach Jim Boeheim called into the show with his two cents.

Let me solve your problem. When you get to the end of the game, you put the guys in, in that game that are playing well. You don't go to the starters necessarily. It might be. But if somebody's playing well at that point in time, then he stays in the game during that end of the game situation. Unless as a coach you feel, well, 'he's done everything he can do, he's not going to do it anymore.' So, you kind of go by the feel of the game, and if your best player has been in foul trouble, like say Carmelo Anthony, and at the end of the game, somebody else is playing well in his position, you still put Carmelo Anthony back into the game...

Right now, it doesn't really matter, since Syracuse has won every game by 30 points or more. They have yet to be tested in a contest, but eventually that will happen.

Maybe it will happen on Tuesday against Monmouth, but the Orange do have games against nationally-ranked Houston and Kansas next week where it certainly could.
