The Orange will now prepare for this month's ACC tournament in Duluth, Georgia, which begins on March 4.

The Syracuse University women's basketball team closed out its regular season with a home victory over Boston College 90-65 on Sunday afternoon. The Orange will now prepare for the ACC tournament next week in Duluth, Georgia.

How the ACC Tournament works

For the second consecutive season, the top 15 teams qualify for the ACC tournament. The bottom three teams in the ACC standings will not compete in the postseason tournament. The opening round on March 4th features teams ranked 10th-15th. The following round on March 5th features teams finishing 5th-9th along with the winners from the previous round. The quarterfinals on Friday, March 6 will include the top four seeds facing off in their respective matchups against winners from the previous round. The ACC finals are scheduled for Sunday, March 8.

Syracuse's draw

With the win on Sunday, the Orange officially closed the regular season at 22-7 and 12-6 inside league play. However, Virginia Tech and Notre Dame also finished 12-6, and the tiebreakers earned the Orange the No. 7 seed in the tournament.

As a result, Syracuse will play the winner of No. 10 Cal and No. 15 Wake Forest on Thursday night at 5 p.m. ET. The game will air on ACC Network. Duke is the No. 1 seed and the regular season champion.

Inside the numbers From Sunday

Uche Izoje led the scoring for the Orange with 24 points. The first-year stand out recorded her third consecutive double-double with a 12-rebound performance. The double-double was her fourth since the start of February. Sophomore Maddy Potts came off the bench and recorded 10 points, her fourth double-digit scoring game of the season.

Unloading The bench

Coach Felisha Legette-Jack played a total of 14 players in the contest, including nine off the bench. The non-starters for the Orange combined for 35 points. Syracuse's bench outscored Boston College's non-starters 35-22 despite the Eagles getting 20 points from Joceylne Grier. Grier played 31 minutes off the bench, recording 20 total field-goal attempts and eight three-point attempts.

Senior day

Syracuse honored four seniors in their final regular season home game at the JMA Wireless Dome. Dominque Darius, Journey Thompson, Laila Phelia, and Oyindamola Akinbolowa. All four seniors were honored pregame via social media and exited the game together in the game's final five minutes.

Revenge Is sweet

Just one season ago, the Orange's season came to an abrupt halt because of the Eagles. Despite having a 19-point lead in last year's ACC tournament, the Orange could not keep the advantage and the Eagles rallied for the upset win.
