Marta Suarez posts 22 points and 11 rebounds as TCU defeats Kansas State 74-62 to reach the Big 12 Tournament championship game in Kansas City.

TCU women’s basketball is one win away from making Big 12 history again. The No. 10 Horned Frogs powered past Kansas State 74-62 in the Big 12 Tournament semifinals, using a dominant second-half surge to secure a trip to Sunday’s championship game at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City.

For TCU (29-4, 15-3 Big 12), the victory keeps alive a chance to sweep both the Big 12 regular season and tournament titles for the second straight year - an achievement only a handful of programs in conference history have accomplished.

And once again, Marta Suarez delivered when the Frogs needed it most.

The star forward finished with 22 points and 11 rebounds, recording her ninth double-double of the season.

Suarez caught fire in the third quarter, scoring 14 points in the period alone, helping TCU turn a tight game into a controlled advantage.

Her scoring burst helped push the Horned Frogs ahead 56-49 entering the fourth quarter, shifting momentum firmly in TCU’s favor.

Backcourt star Olivia Miles added 18 points and eight rebounds, while Taylor Bigby and Veronica Sheffey each chipped in 10 points, giving TCU four players in double figures for the 13th time this season.

The game remained competitive early. Kansas State responded to an early TCU lead with a strong first-quarter push, capitalizing on turnovers to take control late in the opening period.

The Horned Frogs committed 12 turnovers in the first half and briefly struggled to find rhythm offensively.

But after halftime, TCU looked like a different team.

The Frogs shot a blistering 63 percent from the field in the second half, eventually pulling away by outscoring the Wildcats 31-19 over the final 15 minutes.

TCU also dominated the glass.

The Horned Frogs finished with a commanding 45-27 rebounding advantage, their highest rebound total ever recorded in a Big 12 Tournament game.

Clara Silva played a key role early, grabbing nine of her 10 rebounds in the first half to stabilize TCU during a tense opening stretch.

Kansas State was led by Jordan Speiser, who scored 16 points off the bench, but the Wildcats struggled offensively overall, shooting just 36 percent from the field.

With the win, TCU advances to the Big 12 Tournament championship game, where the Horned Frogs will face either West Virginia or Colorado on Sunday.

One more victory would deliver TCU’s fifth conference tournament title ... and cement another historic season in Fort Worth.
