TCU football fans could soon hear Big 12 replay decisions unfold live, adding rare transparency to controversial calls.
TCU football fans know exactly how fast a game can flip on one replay review.
Now, the Big 12 is giving Horned Frogs fans something they’ve rarely had in those tense moments ... a chance to actually hear what’s happening.

The Big 12 is creating a new replay operations center that will provide live audio feeds from replay reviews during conference game broadcasts.
For TCU, that means future Big 12 football Saturdays could come with a lot more clarity when a catch, fumble, targeting call or goal-line ruling goes under the microscope.
And honestly? It’s about time.
The conference is becoming the second major college league to let TV viewers hear replay audio, following the ACC.
That puts the Big 12 ahead of the NFL in one area where fans have been begging for progress ... officiating transparency.
Anyone who watched TCU’s wild rise under Sonny Dykes knows how thin the margin can be in this league.
One replay can change a drive. One overturned call can swing momentum.
One unexplained decision can dominate the postgame conversation longer than anything Josh Hoover, Eric McAlister or the defense did on the field.
That’s why this matters.
The UFL has already shown what full transparency can look like, with replay audio, control-center communication and even in-game conversations with officials.
The NFL still hasn’t gone that far, which makes college football’s push look even bolder.
For the Horned Frogs, this could be a win for both fans and broadcasters.
Instead of guessing why a call stood or was overturned, viewers may get direct insight into what officials saw, what standard they applied and why the ruling changed or didn’t.
Will it eliminate controversy? Absolutely not. TCU fans will still argue. Every fan base will.
But at least now, when the Big 12 booth makes a game-changing decision, fans won’t be left staring at the TV wondering what just happened.
They’ll hear it for themselves.
