Former TCU forward Aaliyah Roberson is headed to Alabama after a redshirt season, giving the Crimson Tide a battle-tested frontcourt piece.
FORT WORTH - Former TCU forward Aaliyah Roberson is getting a fresh SEC start, and Alabama just added a proven piece from one of the Big 12’s toughest programs.
Roberson, a 6-2 senior from San Antonio, has joined Alabama women’s basketball for the 2026-27 season after four years with the Horned Frogs.

She appeared in 89 career games at TCU before missing the 2025-26 campaign with an injury suffered at the 2025 USA Basketball 3X Nationals.
For TCU fans, this one stings a bit. Roberson wasn’t just depth. She was efficient, experienced and capable of stretching the floor from a frontcourt spot.
In 2024-25, Roberson played in all 38 games for the Horned Frogs, scoring 180 points and grabbing 96 rebounds.
She averaged 4.7 points and 2.5 rebounds while shooting 54 percent from the field.
The real weapon was the perimeter stroke: Roberson went 29-of-60 from 3-point range, good for a team-best 48 percent.
That’s elite spacing from a post player.
Roberson also led all NCAA Division I post players with a 67 percent effective field goal percentage, showing exactly why Alabama believes there’s still a major upside play here.
Alabama head coach Pauline Love made it clear the Crimson Tide valued more than the box score.
"What stood out to us wasn't just Aaliyah's talent, it was her journey. She's battled adversity, invested in her development and continued to elevate the people around her. That kind of resilience is exactly what we want our program to represent."
Roberson’s best TCU season came in 2023-24, when she started 18 of 33 games and averaged 7.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and 27.5 minutes.

She scored a career-high 23 points against BYU and grabbed 14 rebounds against Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship quarterfinals.
Now, after a medical redshirt, Roberson gets a reset. TCU loses a versatile veteran. Alabama gains a forward with scars, skill and serious bounce-back potential.
