TCU landed McNeese transfer Jaden Bahl, a hard-throwing righty with a 2.43 ERA and one year of eligibility left.

TCU baseball is adding some portal heat, and Jaden Bahl brings the kind of arm talent that can change a bullpen fast.

Bahl, a right-handed pitcher from McNeese and a Pflugerville, Texas native, has committed to the Horned Frogs as one of the program’s early transfer portal pickups of the offseason.

The junior reliever is expected to arrive in Fort Worth as a senior with one year of eligibility remaining.

His 2026 numbers should get TCU fans’ attention.

Bahl made 25 relief appearances for McNeese, going 2-1 with a 2.43 ERA across 40 2/3 innings.

He struck out 47 batters, walked 28 and limited opponents to a .199 batting average.

He also allowed just three home runs, which matters for a staff trying to add swing-and-miss without giving away loud contact.

The raw stuff is real, too.

Bahl’s fastball generally sits between 92-95 mph and has touched 96.

He also mixes in a 79-83 mph changeup and an 86-90 mph cutter, giving TCU a power relief option with enough variety to miss barrels when he’s commanding the zone.

Before McNeese, Bahl pitched at Bossier Parish Community College in Louisiana, where he worked both as a starter and reliever.

Over 31 appearances and 24 starts, he threw 107 innings, posted a 7-6 record and struck out 90 hitters.

His sophomore season included a 10.2 strikeouts-per-nine rate, showing the punchout ability was already there before he moved up.

For TCU, this is a strong upside play. Bahl has power stuff, proven Division I relief production and Texas roots. If the Horned Frogs can tighten the walks, he could become a nasty late-inning weapon.
