TCU baseball closes its four-game road trip Tuesday at Abilene Christian after winning seven of its last eight and climbing to No. 25 in the RPI.

TCU baseball heads to Abilene Christian on Tuesday night looking to keep its surge going and finish a productive road trip the right way.

The Horned Frogs enter the matchup at 20-11 after taking a road series from Kansas State, continuing one of their best stretches of the season.

TCU has won seven of its last eight games, and its offense has been one of the biggest reasons why. Over that span, the Frogs are hitting .325 and averaging 9.6 runs per game, giving Kirk Saarloos’ club plenty of momentum entering the final game of this four-game road swing.

TCU’s power has also shown up in a big way. The Frogs have launched 15 home runs in their last seven games and now sit at 38 homers on the season.

They’ve paired that offensive burst with plate discipline, ranking sixth nationally with 205 walks, while also playing sharp defense. TCU has turned 32 double plays this year, a total that leads the Big 12 and ranks fifth in the country.

Cole Cramer is one of the hottest bats in the lineup right now. He carries an eight-game hitting streak into Tuesday’s game and is batting .475 during that stretch, going 19-for-40 with 11 RBIs.

His consistency has helped stabilize an offense that has become much more dangerous over the last two weeks.

Abilene Christian, meanwhile, enters at 16-16 and brings real power of its own.

The Wildcats have hit 60 home runs this season, tied for 11th nationally, with Grant Watkins and Diego Cardenas combining for 31 of them.

Even so, TCU has the edge on paper and in the all-time series. The Frogs are 30-3 all-time against ACU and already beat the Wildcats 7-6 earlier this season on Brady Dallimore’s walk-off homer.

With its RPI up to 25, TCU has every reason to treat this midweek matchup like another important step forward.
