Two Horned Frogs pitchers will miss extended time as conference play gets underway.

The No. 17 TCU Horned Frogs begin Big 12 play this weekend, but they'll do so with two pitchers on the mend.

As reported by college baseball insider Kendall Rogers, right-handed depth arm Tommy LaPour has a flexor strain and is expected to miss 8-10 weeks.

Lefty pitcher Noah Franco (oblique) is also injured and will not be available for another 10 days at least.

LaPour has appeared just once this season when he started on the mound in a win over Vanderbilt on Feb. 13. He threw five innings, allowing five hits and two runs (3.60 ERA) while striking out five Commodore batters.

Last season, LaPour was an ace for the Horned Frogs after transferring in from Wichita State. He posted a 8-3 record in 2025 with a 3.09 ERA and 88 strikeouts over 90.2 innings pitched. So far, it has been devastating health luck that has kept the First Team All-Conference selection from bringing that production again this season.

Franco last appeared on Feb. 22, his second outing on the year. For the season, Franco has a 12.00 ERA over 3.0 innings of work.

The Frogs - who are ranked as high as No. 14 in the country (Baseball America) - host the Kansas Jayhawks on March 10 at 6 p.m. at Lupton Stadium in a final non-conference tune-up before beginning league play. Kansas is 10-5 on the season while TCU holds a 9-6 record.

TCU will close out a season-long eight game home stand with this meeting against the Jayhawks. The support in Fort Worth has been instrumental in the Frogs winning seven of their last eight games.

Last time out, the Frogs picked up a win over Tulane, 4-3, after dropping the first meeting of the series 8-4 in a comeback win for the Green Wave to start the double-header.

After a standalone game against the Jayhawks, TCU will travel for its first conference series. They will quickly trip west to Tempe, Arizona for a three-game set against the Arizona State Sun Devils beginning on March 13-15.
