Fifth-seeded TCU men's golf faces Kansas, West Virginia and Baylor in the 2026 Big 12 Match Play Tournament, looking to make a championship run in Utah.

FORT WORTH - TCU men's golf is heading to Utah with an opportunity to make an early statement against some of the Big 12 Conference's strongest programs.

The fifth-seeded Horned Frogs will compete in the 2026 Big 12 Men's Golf Match Play Tournament, scheduled for October 12-14 at The Country Club of Salt Lake in Salt Lake City.

TCU enters the three-day competition as one of the tournament's top five seeds, but reaching the championship won't be easy.

The Horned Frogs have been placed in Pool D alongside No. 4 Kansas, No. 12 West Virginia and No. 13 Baylor.

The matchup against Kansas immediately stands out as one of the most intriguing possibilities in pool play.

Separated by just one position in the tournament seedings, the Jayhawks and Horned Frogs enter as the two highest-seeded programs in their group.

But TCU can't afford to overlook West Virginia or in-state rival Baylor.

Unlike traditional stroke-play tournaments, match play creates opportunities for lower-seeded teams to pull off significant upsets.

Each team competition features five individual matches, with players earning one point for a victory and half a point for a tie.

The winning team receives three points toward the pool standings, while tied team matches award one point to each side.

For TCU, the challenge will be maintaining consistency across all five individual matchups.

The tournament begins Monday with two rounds of pool competition, followed by a third round Tuesday morning.

Only the four pool winners advance to Tuesday afternoon's semifinals, meaning the Horned Frogs must outperform three conference opponents just to reach the championship bracket.

The title match is scheduled for Wednesday morning.

Oklahoma State earned the tournament's top overall seed, followed by Texas Tech, Arizona State and Kansas.

TCU rounds out the top five, putting the Horned Frogs in position to challenge the conference's highest-ranked programs.

Monday's opening matches begin at 9 a.m. Central, with the second round scheduled for 2:30 p.m.

Tuesday's semifinal matches begin at 2:30 p.m. Central, while Wednesday's championship round starts at 9 a.m.

For TCU, the objective is clear.

Win Pool D, reach the semifinals and give the Horned Frogs an opportunity to bring a Big 12 championship back to Fort Worth.
