TCU added another piece to its surging 2027 recruiting class, landing Hawaii linebacker Linkin Apana after multiple visits to Fort Worth.
TCU football just reached across the Pacific to add more juice to its 2027 recruiting class.
The Horned Frogs landed a commitment from three-star linebacker Linkin Apana, a Honolulu standout from Kamehameha Kapalama.
Apana announced his decision late Friday night, giving TCU another defensive piece in a class that keeps gaining momentum.
The 6-1, 207-pound linebacker picked the Horned Frogs over a group that included Boise State, Washington State, UTSA, San Diego State and UNLV.
His decision comes after multiple visits to Fort Worth, a sign that TCU’s staff built a strong connection and kept pushing until it closed the deal.
Apana is ranked as the No. 90 linebacker in the country and the No. 4 overall prospect in Hawaii in the 247Sports Composite.
That makes him an intriguing pickup for a TCU program that has not been shy about expanding its recruiting footprint beyond Texas.
For the Horned Frogs, this is another example of targeted recruiting. Apana brings size, range and developmental upside to the linebacker room, and his background in Hawaii gives TCU a player who had to be evaluated beyond the usual regional recruiting trail.
TCU’s 2027 class is now up to 15 commitments, and the pace has picked up quickly.
The Horned Frogs have added three pledges in the past week, turning a strong summer stretch into one of the more active runs in the Big 12.
That matters for a program trying to keep stacking depth while fighting in a league that’s getting more competitive by the year.
Apana may not be the loudest name in TCU’s class, but he fits the profile of a player worth watching. He visited. He connected. He bought in.
Now TCU has another defender on board, and the Frogs’ 2027 class keeps getting deeper.
