TCU’s 2027 recruiting board just got a little louder. Quarterback commit Brice McCurdy has scheduled his official visit to Fort Worth for May 29-31, setting up what’s shaping into a pivotal recruiting weekend for Sonny Dykes and his staff.
The 6-0, 190-pound signal-caller announced the plans on social media, doubling down on his pledge to the Horned Frogs.
McCurdy is currently the lone commitment in TCU’s 2027 class, but he won’t be alone on campus.
The Frogs are expected to host several priority targets that same weekend, including Bryce Breeden, Alexander Herrera, Tristan Willis, Rontrae Carter and Brody Knowles. It’s the kind of visitor list that can shift momentum in a hurry.
Ranked as the No. 40 quarterback nationally and the No. 5 quarterback in Texas for the 2027 cycle, according to 247Sports Composite rankings, McCurdy brings legitimate dual-threat production.
As a junior at Robinson, he threw for more than 2,200 yards and 28 touchdowns while adding nearly 700 rushing yards and six scores on the ground. That versatility helped power Robinson to a 9-3 record and put McCurdy firmly on Power Five radars.
He ultimately chose TCU over Baylor, Duke, Cincinnati, UCF and Arizona, citing the offensive vision presented by the new staff.
For TCU football recruiting, locking in an early quarterback often becomes the domino that helps attract skill-position talent.
May’s visit won’t just be about reaffirming McCurdy’s commitment ... it could be about building the foundation of the entire 2027 class.
And if his junior film is any indication, the Frogs may have found a quarterback who can extend plays, stress defenses and put up numbers in the Big 12.
