TCU golfer Camille Min-Gaultier is through her first round at the 2026 Augusta National Women’s Amateur, and while the sophomore didn’t get the start she wanted, she’s still very much alive entering the second day of one of the biggest events in women’s amateur golf.
Min-Gaultier posted a 4-over 76 on Wednesday and sits tied for 59th after 18 holes.
That number doesn’t fully capture the stage she’s competing on.
The Augusta National Women’s Amateur features a 72-player field and is one of the premier showcases in the sport, and Min-Gaultier earned her spot after another standout season at TCU.
She entered the week ranked No. 50 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking and had already recorded six top-10 finishes during the 2025-26 campaign.
For Min-Gaultier, the opening round was more about staying within striking distance than making a statement. At Augusta events, one clean round can change everything, especially with the cut looming after 36 holes.
Her opening 76 leaves work to do, but it doesn’t close the door by any means. A steady second round could still put the Horned Frogs star in position to extend her week and build on what has already been a strong sophomore year.
And this season has been strong by any standard.
Min-Gaultier has been one of TCU’s most reliable players all year, climbing as high as No. 41 in the collegiate Scoreboard rankings in March while continuing to stack high finishes against elite competition.
So, no, Wednesday wasn’t the round Min-Gaultier envisioned, but it’s also not the full story.
She came to Augusta because she’s one of the best amateurs in the world, and Thursday gives her a chance to show exactly why.
