TCU women’s tennis enters a massive home weekend atop the Big 12 standings, with Utah and BYU visiting Fort Worth in matches that could shape the title race.

TCU women’s tennis is heading into one of its biggest weekends of the season with first place in the Big 12 on the line.

The Horned Frogs return to Fort Worth for their final two home matches of the regular season, hosting Utah on April 2 and BYU on April 4 at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.

The timing couldn’t be bigger for TCU women’s tennis. The Horned Frogs sit alone atop the Big 12 standings at 8-1 in conference play, putting them in position to chase a conference championship milestone the program has never reached in its time in the league.

The matchup with Utah carries especially high stakes, with the Utes entering just one match behind TCU in the standings at 7-2.

TCU has built this run on depth and consistency across the lineup. The Horned Frogs have been especially strong in the middle and lower parts of singles play, where courts four and five have produced a combined 24 wins.

Court three has added a 10-2 mark, while court six has delivered a 9-1 record, giving TCU the kind of balance that wins tight conference matches.

Several players have played major roles in that success. Yu-Chin Tsai has been flawless in dual singles matches at 12-0, while Cayetana Gay owns a perfect 9-0 mark.

Cristina Ramos Sierra has added a strong 9-1 record, helping TCU turn lineup depth into a weekly advantage.

At the top, Raquel Caballero Chica has delivered star power, going 5-1 over the last month with two ranked singles wins and a Big 12 Player of the Week honor.

Momentum is also on TCU’s side after recent victories over Cal Poly and Baylor. The win over Baylor pushed the Horned Frogs to their highest Big 12 win total in a single season.

Now the focus shifts to finishing strong at home. If TCU can defend its court this weekend, the Horned Frogs will head into the final road stretch with the Big 12 title still firmly within reach.
