Jayden Douglas broke TCU’s 400m hurdles record to win Big 12 gold, leading 10 Horned Frogs to All-Conference honors.

TCU track and field left the Big 12 Outdoor Championships with a school record, a conference champion and a growing list of Horned Frogs peaking at the right time.

Junior Jayden Douglas delivered the loudest statement of the final night, winning the Big 12 title in the 400m hurdles with a blistering 49.32.

The time broke TCU’s school record and gave the Frogs their second gold medal of the weekend, joining Irene Jepkemboi’s javelin championship.

Douglas didn’t just win. He controlled the race and became TCU’s first conference champion in the 400m hurdles since Jordan Pitts in 2008.

Freshman Bailey Johnson also made a major splash in the sprint finals. She ran a personal-best 11.17 in the 100m to finish fourth, then came back about an hour later and grabbed silver in the 200m with a 22.61.

That 200m time showed just how fast she’s developing, marking a 1.29-second drop from her first collegiate race less than two months ago.

Indya Mayberry added another podium finish for TCU, taking bronze in the 100m with a season-best 11.16.

On the men’s side, Ronnie Kendrick surged to fourth in the 400m with a career-best 45.45, good for ninth in program history. Evander Thomas also scored in the event, finishing seventh in 46.27.

Georgia Scott doubled up with gritty eighth-place finishes in both the 1500m and 800m, while Ashvin Balaramana cleared a personal-best 2.12m in the high jump. That mark ranks seventh in TCU history.

The men’s 4x100m relay also reached the podium, with pole vaulter Ben Kirbo stepping in on anchor as TCU finished seventh in 40.51.

Both TCU teams placed 11th overall. Next, qualified Frogs head to the NCAA West First Round in Fayetteville from May 27-30.
